RAHU KETU TRANSIT

Rahu/Ketu are the north and south nodes. These are shadow planets which play a very important role in influencing the effects of other planets.

According to Vedic Astrology, the nine planets called “Navagrahas”, transit from one sign to the next at different speeds. Major planets like Jupiter, Saturn, Rahu & Ketu take a little longer to transit from one sign to the next. While Jupiter takes approximately one year to transit one sign, Saturn does every two and a half years while Rahu & Ketu take one and half years.

Rahu and Ketu, the saya (shadow) planets transits in the opposite direction to other planets, in retrograde motion. Also that Rahu and Ketu always transit together as they are known to be head and tail of serpent. Transit of Rahu and Ketu gives myterious effects in one's life. As Rahu is known to bring abrupt and sudden incidents in life, while Ketu affects the life based on the karma (deeds of previous life).

Since Rahu and Ketu are shadow planets they do not own a position (rasi) of their own, but they make influence on other planets while they are in the same rasi. If Rahu and Ketu are with good planets during transit they tend to neutralize or increase the effect of the planet based on the strenght of Rahu and Ketu with the neighbour planet, while with inimical planets, then the period when rahu and ketu stay with those planets will bring more bad influences. But at some cases effects of Rahu and Ketu may get neutralized with good planets position in natal chart or current planetary position to your rasi. For example Jupiter's position in natal chart or current transit position to your rasi may neutralize effect of Rahu and Ketu.

Rahu will enter Pisces Sign on 30 October 2023 at 16.37 IST and continue to transit in Pisces till 18 May 2025 at 19.35 IST. Rahu and Ketu are 180 degrees apart and hence Ketu will transit in Virgo during the same period.
